World’s Largest Home and Kitchenware Fair Held in İstanbul
The 32nd International Home and Kitchenwares Fair – Zuchex 2022 – was held at Tüyap Beylikdüzü, in İstanbul. “Zuchex was the largest household and kitchenware fair on a global scale last year,” said Tarsus Türkiye General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur. He noted that this year’s event surpassed its one billion-dollar trade target. Exhibiting innovations that add design to life, Zuchex hosted 9,084 foreign buyers from 150 countries and the highest number of foreign visitors in the Fair’s history.
Zuchex, organized for the 32nd time by Tarsus Türkiye with the support of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Türkiye, İMMİB (Istanbul Minerals and Metals Exporters' Associations), ZÜCDER (Glassware Manufacturers Association), and KOSGEB, was extraordinarily successful. Welcoming visitors and buyers with the slogan #theplacetobe, the four-day Fair hosted 700 exhibitor companies from Türkiye and abroad, and more than 9,000 foreign buyers from 150 countries.
Zuchex 2022 offered new trade prospects, alternative sales channels, and opportunities to open different markets to the Turkish Home and Kitchenware Sector, which aims to export over $7 billion by the end of the year. More than $1 billion of trade was realized during the four-day event, said Tarsus Türkiye General Manager Zekeriya Aytemur, who observed that “Zuchex is a fair that welcomes visitors from all over the world, especially from Europe, North and South America, the Balkans, the Middle East, Central Asia and the Turkic Republics, every year it is organized. Within the scope of our Hosted Buyer program, we brought around 300 new companies – companies that have not yet traded with Türkiye and are among the largest buyers – to Zuchex 2022. Thanks to the Fair, they have now started to trade with Turkish companies.”
Organic plates, hybrid design tableware, colour trends of 2023...
Organized under the categories of "Tableware and Kitchenware", "Cooking Equipment", "Plastic Housewares / Garden Accessories", "Housewares", "Decorative Home and Kitchen Appliances" and "Electrical Appliances", Zuchex 2022 featured hundreds of innovations ranging from hybrid tableware to organic plates and from bamboo kitchen utensils to new generation cookers, as well as the leading colour trends for 2023. The Fair took place in 14 halls across a gross area of 100,000 square meters.
Presenting Turkish coffee recipes, the Cooking Theatre attracted great attention.
This year’s Zuchex also presented the “Cooking Theatre” event. Sponsored by Oztiryakiler, the Cooking Theatre was held in a dedicated kitchen area in Hall 11 and helmed by renowned chef Rüzgar Sünbül and a team of university students studying in culinary departments. Throughout the Fair, workshops were offered, with visitors sampling various dishes and beverages. Showcasing innovative cooking and presentation products from participating companies, the event highlighted recipes ranging from Turkish coffees and desserts to soup and meat dishes.
